Drafting a precendent
Create a drawing that portrays a further level of information of an assigned house. One drawing shows the organization of the exterior, while the other shows information about the interior. This is an interpretation of Villa Stein by Le Corbusier.
The first drawing focuses on my interpretation of the exterior of the house. The Villa Stein is basically formed by strips and blocks while connected by either stairs or the canopy. Those strips and blocks wrap around the building which give the building a sense of continuous flowing.
The second drawing focuses on my interpretation of the interior of the house. The interior of Villa Stein is divided by cross walls which forms grids. While the grid serves as the spatial organization, the stairs serves as joints to connect the grids together while introducing a sense of curving to the interior.
